Polymer concrete manholes are light and fast to install, but a few good-practice steps make sure they perform for the full 100-year service life.
Handling. Because PRC units are up to 70% lighter than reinforced concrete, they can be placed with a boom truck or light crane and a small crew. Always lift from the designed lifting points and avoid impact on the edges.
Bedding. Prepare a level, well-compacted granular bed so the base is fully and evenly supported. A true, stable foundation prevents point loading and keeps joints aligned.
Jointing & sealing. Use the specified seals and lubricant, and seat each section squarely. With factory-integrated benching and channels, much of the internal shaping is already done — reducing on-site work and the chance of error.
With zero curing time, the structure is ready as soon as it is set and backfilled, so a manhole can typically be installed by just two to three workers in a single visit.
